Etihad has announced that it will operate daily flights to Dusseldorf Airport (DUS) and Copenhagen Airport (CPH) from Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport (AUH) from October 2025.

The expansion brings much more capacity to Dusseldorf than its previous thrice-weekly flights. The airline also stated that its Dusseldorf service will now be year-round.

The Abu Dhabi-based carrier is strengthening its presence in Scandinavia too, with flights to Copenhagen increasing from its previous four-times weekly service.

“This move to daily flights for Dusseldorf and Copenhagen marks an exciting chapter in our European expansion. It reflects our commitment to providing unparalleled connectivity between Abu Dhabi and key European cities,” Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer of Etihad Airways said in a statement.

“These enhanced frequencies allow us to offer our guests greater flexibility and improved connection options across our global network. As we continue to grow, we remain dedicated to delivering our award-winning service and hospitality on these routes, ensuring every journey with Etihad is exceptional,” De added.

On October 14, 2024, Etihad CEO Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves said that new routes are “on the horizon” as the carrier announced that passenger numbers have soared by 35% in comparison to those from the previous year.

“Our route map has swelled to 76 passenger destinations, from 68 this time last year. We announced two new routes Prague and Warsaw in September with more on the horizon, as we continue to fulfill our growth promise,” Neves said.
