Lufthansa has reopened its renovated lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport’s (EWR) Terminal B.

The announcement was made by Lufthansa’s Group Station Manager at EWR, Marc Suhr, via a LinkedIn post on July 26, 2024.

The lounge was closed in October 2023, and while it was being refurbished, Lufthansa passengers flying to Frankfurt Airport (FRA) used the United Club Lounge and United Polaris Lounge at Terminal C of the airport. And those headed to Munich Airport (MUC) used the SAS Lounge in Terminal B.

The Newark facility is the first Lufthansa lounge to be designed in line with the airline’s Allegris flight experience and concept.

First showcased in April 2024, the Allegris was initially introduced on Lufthansa’s long-haul A350 flights. The roll-out of the Allegris Cabin is part of Lufthansa’s €2.5 billion investment program to upgrade its passenger experience.

Similar to the Allegris Cabin, the Newark lounge features light colors and natural wood finishes with clean lines, accentuated by darker neutral shades.

“A project which started a long time ago, was halted by Covid, is finally finished in the new Allegris style,” Suhr said in his post.

“More seating, more comfort, a better food & beverage offering and an overall better look. At Lufthansa we say “yes” to a premium lounge experience,” Surh added.
