An Air Canada Airbus A330 was hit by a catering truck at Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL), causing a delay to the plane’s departure.

The aircraft, with registration C-GHKR, was parked on the apron as it was getting ready for a planned departure to Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) under flight AC72.

Representatives from Air Canada and Montreal Airport confirmed with AeroTime that the incident actually took place in 2022, but video footage of the incident has recently resurfaced and uploaded to A Fly Guy’s Cabin Crew Lounge social media accounts, including Facebook.

The clip shows a Newrest catering truck appearing from the aircraft’s right side. The truck continued to drive in front of the aircraft, until its roof hit the bottom of the plane’s nose.

The aircraft sustained visible damage and had to be replaced in order to continue the flight service to Casablanca.
