Textron Aviation has introduced a maritime patrol variant of its twin-engine Cessna Citation Longitude business jet.

“The Cessna Citation Longitude jet provides an excellent value for Special Mission operations due to its acquisition cost and operation cost combined with excellent speed, range and payload capacity,” said Bob Gibbs, vice president, Special Mission Sales for Textron Aviation.

Based on the Citation Longitude business jet, the maritime patrol and surveillance variant has a maximum range of 3,500 nautical miles (6,482 kilometers), with a maximum endurance of eight hours during a mission.

The aircraft is equipped with a transmissive belly radome for maritime radars, Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) fairing, Electro-Optical/Infra-Red (EO/IR) sensor lift, and optional Night Vision Goggle (NVG) compatible lighting.

According to Textron, the newest version of the Cessna Citation Longitude is suited for surveillance over land and water, search and rescue missions, border patrol, and fishery monitoring.
