Qatar Airways Cargo has signed five-year contracts for cargo handling in Manchester and Birmingham airports in the UK.

The contract, signed with Swissport, would allow the Gulf cargo company to utilize its road feeder services to Aberdeen, Belfast, Bristol, East Midlands, Glasgow, and Newcastle via the airport warehouses, according to Swissport’s press release. Both cargo handling contracts come into effect from September 1, 2020, and are valid through 2025.

Swissport will be also reiterating its old contract with Qatar Airways Cargo, which covers airport ground services and cargo handling at Schiphol airport in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The Swiss aviation company released a press statement on August 17, 2020, saying that a contract with Qatar’s cargo carrier was renewed for five more years. It covers general cargo, pharmaceuticals, dangerous goods, and temperature-sensitive goods.

“Our long-term partnership with Swissport in Amsterdam, Manchester, and Birmingham will allow us to offer our customers fast, seamless and efficient handling for all types of cargo,” Guillaume Halleux, Chief Officer Cargo at Qatar Airways said.
